Lunch at Pergola roof garden

On Nov 4th 2017 the OMA spent a fun afternoon networking/socialising at the Pergola winter roof garden in Paddington! This is a wonderful covered area so it does not get cold during these colder months of the year. There was a large turnout and the event was very much enjoyed by all. The event was free and attendees were able to buy their own food and drink at the venue.

Iftar – Ramadan Tent

The OMA attended an Iftar at the Ramadan Tent Project. Taraweh Salah (prayer) was held after the iftar.

The Ramadan Tent Project is an outdoor iftar open to the general public and is run by muslim volunteers. It engenders a beautiful Ramadan atmosphere, as well as a warm community spirit (https://www.facebook.com/RamadanTentProject/).

The iftar was entirely free however donations were made to the Ramadan Tent Project.

Date: Saturday 17th June, 8 pm

Venue:  Malet Street Garden, University of London, WC1E 6DP

Khayaal Theatre

The Khayaal Theatre brought two of their performances of historical tales to the OMA. These were ‘The Quest for Knowledge’ and ‘Tea with Tamurlane’

These stories were followed by a Q&A session with Khayaal Theatre’s Artistic Director, Luqman Ali, and was followed by the opportunity to network and discuss the stories with other members of the audience.  These productions raise awareness of the contributions of Muslims throughout history and towards the betterment of today’s society.
